
- This Election was held by nine phases (April 7 to May 12)
- We have 543 Parliament constituencies
- Electoral Population in India is 814.5 million
- Estimate of the election is INR 35 billion
- Election expenditure by candidate INR 7 million in bigger states and to INR 5.4 million in smaller states
- According to a survey, people suggested that corruption is the main issue, 14% voted
- 1.4 million (1,400,000) electronic voting machines in 930,000 voting centres were used
- 1.1 million (1,100,000) of civil servants and 5.5 million (5,500,000) civilian employees to handle the election
The main attraction of this election is Flying Squad. Some major incidents, are compiled below
- $55 million in cash was seized by EC flying squad
- 22.5 million litres of alcohol and about 185,000 kg of drugs
- 7 million rupees for each of the 543 parliamentary constituencies
- Andhra Pradesh is top of $25.5 million and Karnataka at $4.7 million
- 76.89 Crore Seized in Tamil Nadu
The Judgment Day reserved for this Election is May 16, 2014. I am also expecting the election results eagerly like millions of people in our democratic country.
